Joe the Plumber

Sometimes it takes an Average Joe to plumb the political scene for a little common sense. Enter Samuel Joe Wurzelbacher. During a campaign stop in Ohio, Senator Obama encountered Joe, who asked the Senator whether the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise his taxes if he bought the plumbing business where he currently worked. Senator Obama said that his plan would “spread the wealth,” and the epic of Joe the Plumber was born. As Joe explained in an interview, “I work hard for my money, and the fact that he thinks I make a little too much that he just wants to redistribute it to other people. Some of them might need it, but at the same time, it’s not their discretion to do it – it’s mine.” For Joe’s common sense and courage in the face of liberal media criticism, he is and will continue to be a winner. At least some people still believe in the American Dream.
