MSex Responds to Unseth
Original Article • Author Response • December 2007 • Volume VI Number III • Letters to the Editor Rate this article:Sir:
As the Coordinator for MSex here at Brown, I am compelled to correct a factual error I noticed in your recent article “FemSex: Caught in the Act” by Senior Editor Joshua Unseth: “…Brown University now has the male version called MSex (it is like FemSex without the need to discuss how to use a strap-on).” In fact,MSex does discuss the use of strap-ons as they can be relevant to the experiences of our participants, for example those members, both male and female, who are interested in being penetrated by a female partner. We also discuss the use of a number of other sex toys and safer sex paraphernalia with the help of speakers from Brown’s office of Health Education and from Miko Exoticwear.
I will also mention that while it is a common misconception that MSex is a “male version” of FemSex, the two programs are developed and run independently, use different syllabi and agen-das,and have no official ties.We love FemSex and have the utmost respect for what they do on Brown’s campus, but we are not a male version of them any more than they are a female version of us.
[ed: We have omitted the last several lines of this message, because they comprised little more than a shameless plug – butt plug? – for the MSex group.Much as we appreciate our friends at MSex, we do not enjoy plugs.]
Sincerely,
Martin Quinones
